Building Permits
Before Starting Your Project
Development permits are required for any form of development within the Town of Strasbourg. Building permits are required for most construction projects. Please contact the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at strasbourg@sasktel.net to discuss your project before you begin, and the required forms will be sent to you. Please note that the approval process typically takes two to three weeks and the permit applications are approved by the CAO and Town Council.
Development and Building Permits
A Development Permit is first required to ensure that any construction complies with the Town of Strasbourg Zoning Bylaw, and is first approved by the CAO. Once approval is granted for development, a Building Permit application must be submitted and approved before construction can commence.
Development and Building Permit applications and all required documents should ideally be submitted electronically. If electronic submission is not possible, they may be brought to or mailed to the Town Office. The Town uses Professional Building Inspectors, Inc. (PBI) as our legislated building officials. Please ensure all required documents are included with your submission to avoid immediate rejection by the Town Office and PBI.
Permits expire if development has not commenced within six months from the approval date, or work is suspended for a period of six months or more. Extensions may be granted with approval from the CAO.
