Strasbourg’s second in motion 12 week challenge The Strasbourg Recreation Board is helping to keep the community active this winter by sponsoring the second in motion 12 Week Challenge. The 2011 Challenge was so fun and successful that they decided to run it again and this year’s event has even more opportunities to get families moving!
The challenge runs from January 30 to April 23 and
registration costs are $20 per person or $50 per
family. Carol Shultz of the Strasbourg Recreation
Board is happy to have a family rate this year
because the Recreation Board really cares about
families being able to participate. Schultz knows
that the challenge will help make physical activity
the easy choice for kids in her community. With the
family rate, more parents and guardians can become
active role models for kids who need a minimum of 60
minutes of physical activity every day, and more is
better. Challenge registrants are encouraged to participate in three 30 minute activities per week to be eligible for the final draw. Every activity earns an entry with a maximum of three per week. Any physical activity counts! To help provide more physical activity opportunities, the Strasbourg Recreation Board is offering Zumba, yoga, adult stretch, fitness and conditioning classes. For a safe and healthy place to enjoy walking, the local trails are ready to go and on Wednesday nights there will be indoor walking at the school. Throughout the 12 weeks there are incentives to keep the momentum going strong. Many local businesses are on board for the second year and have provided donations. In March, there will be a mini health and wellness fair that will have awesome exhibits for fitness equipment, massage, reflexology and much more! Strasbourg’s in motion 12 week Challenge is a great way to keep the community active during the winter months!
